Impacts of Climate Change on Water Resources

Helmand – December 11, 2024

This time, in Helmand province, a one day awareness raising and capacity building workshop was held under the title “Impacts of Climate Change on Water Resources.” The workshop was organized by the Climate and Environment Coordination Platform (CECOP), in collaboration with The Liaison Office (TLO), on December 11, 2024 (21 Qaws 1403 Solar Hijri) in Lashkargah, Helmand province.

A total of 98 participants from different sectors of society attended the workshop, including representatives of Helmand’s Governor’s Office, the Departments of Environment, Agriculture, and Information & Culture, as well as professors and students of Helmand University, religious scholars, and local community members.

The objective of the program was to raise public awareness and strengthen community capacity regarding the impacts of climate change on water resources. During the session, professional and scientific presentations were delivered by members of CECOP.

At the end of the workshop, participants shared their views and experiences about climate change in Helmand province, and their feedback was collected.
