Climate and Environment Coordination Platform
Climate and Environment Coordination Platform (CECOP), formerly known as ENRMN, is a volunteer group of environment activists, experts, and social activists working towards the betterment of the environment and natural resources in Afghanistan. The platform was established in December 2012 in an initiative by 18 civil society organizations. The initial aim was to ensure effective coordination, advocacy, and oversight over the peaceful and sustainable extraction and exploitation of natural resources in the country.
The platform’s primary objective was to monitor the extraction of mines and its impact on the local communities, their livelihood, safety, and well-being. However, over the years, it has encompassed monitoring of environmental aspects of natural resources. CECOP envisions a safe environment, sustainable use of natural resources, and climate-resilient communities in Afghanistan.

How can excessive water consumption be prevented?
- Fix leaks promptly – dripping taps and leaking pipes waste huge amounts of water.
- Install water-saving fixtures – use low-flow showerheads, faucets, and dual-flush toilets.
- Turn off taps when not in use – for example, while brushing teeth or washing dishes.
- Use efficient appliances – choose washing machines and dishwashers with high water-efficiency ratings.
- Collect and reuse water – rainwater harvesting or using leftover clean water for plants. Practice
- smart irrigation – water plants early morning or evening to reduce evaporation.
