Air pollution is one of the major environmental challenges in the world, with negative impacts on both human health and the environment. The main sources of air pollution come from the industrial and economic activities of countries that, during the process of industrialization, have excessively exploited natural resources. These countries, through massive greenhouse gas emissions, burning fossil fuels, and the use of polluting technologies, have played a significant role in environmental destruction and the rise of global warming. Their insufficient actions to control pollution and the transfer of its consequences to developing countries have further intensified the global environmental crisis.
