The “Green Legacy” campaign was launched in Helmand Province on March 10, 2025, at Helmand University. The event began with a gathering held in the courtyard of the university, attended by the Head of the Helmand Provincial Environmental Protection Department, the Deputy for Finance and Administration of Helmand University, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, the heads of the Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Agronomy, and Agricultural Economics departments, respected professors, and students.

The program opened with recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by an informative session on the Green Legacy campaign presented by Mr. Sayed Abdul Wahab Seyedi, a volunteer member of CECOP and lecturer at Helmand University. He thanked all the participants for joining this national campaign. Afterwards, Mr. Sayed Mohammad Isa Agha, Head of the Environmental Protection Department, expressed his gratitude to CECOP and TLO, emphasizing their continuous support for national initiatives.

Later in the program, Mr. Saeed Aghajan, Deputy for Finance and Administration of Helmand University, also thanked CECOP and the Environmental Protection Department for donating 300 saplings to the university.

The event concluded with a collective tree planting activity, where all participants personally planted saplings, symbolizing their commitment to a greener and healthier environment.
