Climate and Environment Coordination Platform (CECOP)

On July 28, 2025 (6 Asad 1404), a scientific and educational workshop entitled “Climate Change and Natural Resources” was held in Ghazni Province by the Climate and Environment Coordination Platform (CECOP) and the Liaison Office (TLO).

The event was attended by more than 100 young professionals, environmental activists, representatives of academic institutions, as well as local elders and community leaders, who shared their views, concerns, and recommendations in a professional and inspiring atmosphere.

The main themes of the workshop included challenges caused by water scarcity, the impacts of climate change on people’s lives and livelihoods, indigenous and sustainable solutions to address environmental crises, as well as discussions on the state of water resources, reasons for the decline of groundwater, and strategies to combat drought and improve water management.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants—particularly the youth—emphasized the need to raise public awareness, strengthen cooperation with local and international institutions, and highlighted their central role in protecting the country’s natural resources.
