awareness program on the importance of forest conservation in khost

The Environment and Natural Resources Monitoring Network conducted a one-day awareness program about the importance of forest conservation on August 30^th 2022, in the center of Khost province. More than 70 participants, representatives of forest management associations from different districts, ethnic elders, professors and university students participated in the event.

The purpose of this event was to raise people’s awareness about the importance of forest protection and to encourage people to avoid cutting down these forests. In this program, scientific presentations were given on the economic importance of forests, the environmental importance of forests, and the importance of forests from the perspective of Islam. The participants continued to share their ideas about the factors of destruction and ways to prevent it during open discussions and group work sessions during the program.
