how to clean air in the room?
Air pollution in closed rooms and apartments, threaten the health of humans
When there is a discussion of air pollution, our minds go to traffic jam roads or the smoke coming out of the chimney of the industrial factories.
Even though cars and other vehicles are one of the main factors of air pollution, but pollution is not limited to roads and industrial parks, the air in a room could also be polluted. The impact of such pollution could be even more dangerous compared to open-air pollution. People spend more time in the rooms and closed spaces, therefore, there is a need for more attention to the pollution in the rooms and ways to reduce it.
In order to identify and assess the source of air pollution in various parts of the room, pay attention to the following points:
Plants clean air in the rooms. The presence of flowers and plants in the house is effective in reducing air pollution in the room. Plants convert carbon dioxide to oxygen, clear air, and are able to remove harmful pollutants. In the presence of plants, the air moves faster and the moisture of the air remains natural. Researches show that the sign of headaches, stress, drowsiness, and flu are reduced in presence of flowers and greenery. Clean air has several positives on the health of the family. The presence of flowers and greenery clean the air. Various types of flowers are effective in removing chemical pollutants such as paint, solutions, and smoke of cigarettes. In fact, plants and flowers are the natural filters for cleaning the air of rooms and apartments. Researches showed that flowers and plants in the apartments can improve the weather quality. In fact, plants and flowers in the apartments remove 87 percent of poisons in 24 hours. In order to keep the air of a room with 167 square meters, 15 to 18 apartment plants of about 15 to 20 centimeters are advised. Plants can remove various poisonous such as ammonic, carbon dioxide, fuel, xylene, and trichloroethylene. Plants and flowers in apartments also play role in reducing ozone gases which are one of the main pollutants of the air. Researchers’ findings at Pennsylvania University show that plants and flowers in apartments reduce the level of ozone in space. It is advised that flowers shall be kept in rooms to get rid of poisonous.
Plants get rid of tiredness and flu
According to the findings of researchers in the University of Norris V, flowers in apartments increase moisture and reduce dust and problems such as tiredness, coughing, sore throat, and other problems related to flu by 30 percent. Farm aldehyde exists in timber products, smoking, natural gases, and fuel. Contact with these could cause nasal, eyes, and throat discharge. Fuel exists in some of the essences, oil, and paints, and long-term contact could cause headache, drowsiness and in some people, it causes loss of appetite.
Paint and other sparkling items are the main sources of trichloroethylene. This compound exists in perfume, furniture, and other house appliances. With the use of apartment flowers, we can reduce the signs of flu by reducing the poisonous impact of the chemical agents.
Protective and safety measures
Putting one or two plants in the room, we can maintain the air of a 9 square meter fresh and clean, at least one plant in an apartment is necessary, but during keeping flowers and plants other protective and safety measures need to be considered. For example, some of the plants are poisonous, therefore special attention shall be paid to choosing the plants, particularly when kids are at home. In addition, keeping the plants and vests in a place away from children’s reach so that children do not have access to soil and other items which could hurt them or cause poison. Children take everything to their mouth and in case of access to plants and flowers, they could be poisoned with the plants and flowers.
Four approaches to clear air
- Bedroom: Items in the bedroom absorb dust. Dust increases hypersensitivity and breathlessness. It is necessary that the items and bed shall be washed regularly and furniture and other items shall be cleaned properly.
- Rooms: Rooms could be the place of accumulation of dust in the house, therefore there shall be proper ventilation to ensure the airflow and shall be regularly ventilated and cleaned. Smoking dust could exacerbate asthma attacks and cause respiratory problems in children. Do not smoke at home and do not allow others to smoke in closed or indoor spaces. Do not use air fresher sprays which consist of chemicals and cause hypersensitivities.
- Bathroom: Bathrooms are the most moisture place in a house and good ventilation, in order to get rid of moisture and keep it dry, is essential. Moisture causes the growth of mushrooms and hypersensitivities, breathlessness, and problems in breathing. Proper ventilation and keeping the floor dry helps prevent the growth of mushrooms.
- Kitchen: Insecticides are used to kill insects and pests but could cause eyes, nose, and throat discharge and damage kidneys and central nervous system, and increase the risk of cancer. In order to prevent insects and pests, do not keep food items outside and if you need to use insecticides, keep the window open after the use and reduce contacts. If possible, use non-chemical options.
Maintain airflow in the house
It is advised to avoid unnecessary movement in the city during the days the level of air pollution is high and vulnerable people such as elders, children, and respiratory diseases patients must remain home, but this does not mean that the air out of the home is only polluted. The air in the house could sometimes be more polluted than outside. The space at the house is closed and people stay for hours inside the rooms and pollution inside the room could pose danger to the health of people. Smoking using detergents, antiseptics, spray, and other chemical odorants are the source of pollution. In order to keep clean air at home, we shall avoid activities that cause air pollution inside the room. Closing the windows all day is not advised.
